We used to be magicians on the boardโ.
โVorrei dire anchโio abbiamo fattoโ

To avoid losing anything I have a note on my phone: Idee frammenti. Often they are keywords, or quotes, useful in short for writing new fragments for the Blog.
It is a simple list, the thing I noticed however in these months is that some points are there for half an hour, a day at most, even, sometimes, an idea does not even have the time to pass through the notes on my phone, it is directly on the paper. Others instead have been there practically since I decided to open the Blog.
I wonder if it is the moment to delete something.
I tend to write well in advance, naturally where possible, so as not to have the anxiety of having to respect the publication and thus be able to express myself at my best, without useless haste.
When I decided to start the Blog I already had eight fragments ready in the same notebook I am writing this in, so I said to myself: โA two-month gap is sufficientโ.
Naturally publication often does not follow the writing order, a trivial example is the period of the Candidates Tournament with its four fragments: โFooled by Randomnessโ, โWe used to be magicians on the boardโ.
Or in the case of Fire and Illusion (which also contains a post scriptum on the Candidates Tournament), connected to a specific moment like the purchase of Martinโs book.
I am very meticulous about the order, I always try to find a concrete harmony for the fragments, so that you can immerse yourself in the world of Sidio with tranquility and serenity, in a slow and continuous flow, like that of a stream.
The idea that has held position 1 in my notes for four months now is:
โI would also like to say we didโ
The phrase comes from a comment I made (only in my mind, of course) talking about work with โcolleaguesโ from other companies. Their talking with โweโ regarding what the company did surprised me, things that however certainly did not involve โmy colleaguesโ directly. I never said โweโ, and this thing always made me think.
I never perceived a sense of belonging toward my employer and I do not understand if this is correct or not. I am not writing this fragment to find solutions, otherwise the idea would not have been stuck until now on my phoneโs notes, without the right vein to cross my pen. But I try to understand why, although I like my job, I do not belong to it. In reality the thought is much more extended: I do not root for any team in particular, any party or any movement (I deliberately leave the verb โto rootโ because it seems the most appropriate to me).
I cannot root because I feel I lose my uniqueness, putting on blinkers, like horses in horse racing. So in the same way I cannot embrace any company as if it were mine. It is a strange feeling not to belong, but, well, it is the simple truth, perhaps the most honest.
