Localz Only brilla per sonorità che vengono dal country, dal rock, dagli spaghetti western.
Quando parte l’Intro capisci di non essere in Italia: sei nel deserto, su di una coupé che corre, su una strada rovente. Il rap è sempre quello di Noyz: crudo, con qualche perla qua e là, critica sociale e stile, tanto stile.
Non devo certo argomentare ogni canzone dell’album cercando qualcosa di filosofico che qui è intrinseco al progetto.
Come lo stesso Noyz ha spiegato in un’intervista per Rolling Stone Italia:
«Localz Only è l’avviso che vedi sulle spiagge o nei locali dove non possono entrare tutti ma solo i locali. Significa che non è musica per tutti i palati ma solo per quelli che apprezzano»
Il concetto forse è tutto qui, in questa frase.
Non volevo portare un album blasonato, andare a cercare la filosofia nei lavori di De André o dei Pink Floyd; volevo parlare, come sempre, di anima e sensazioni, e questo album è anima e sensazioni.
È uscito nel 2015, quando l’ho ascoltato per la prima volta ciò che mi ha colpito è stato il suono, il deserto, la polvere. Al primo ascolto ho apprezzato Dal tramonto all’alba su tutte, poi, con il tempo Monumenti, El Padre e The World Ain’t Ready For Me.
Si intende: adoro l’album nella sua interezza, ma con il tempo i gusti sono cambiati e le preferenze anche.
A distanza di 11 anni ho comprato il vinile che è stato introvabile per molto tempo, l’ho aggiunto agli ultimi album di Noyz: Enemy, Virus e Funny Games.
Per concludere non posso che mettere un’altra citazione, che poi è anche un invito:

Localz Only shines for sounds coming from country, rock, spaghetti western.
When the Intro starts you understand you are not in Italy, you are in the desert, in a speeding coupe, on a scorching road. The rap is always Noyz’s: raw, with some pearls here and there, social critique and style, so much style.
I certainly do not have to argue every song of the album looking for something philosophical which here is intrinsic to the project.
As Noyz himself explained in an interview for Rolling Stone Italia:
«Localz Only is the warning you see on beaches or in clubs where everyone cannot enter but only the locals. It means it is not music for all palates but only for those who appreciate»
The concept perhaps is all here, in this phrase.
I did not want to bring a famous album, to go looking for philosophy in the works of De André or Pink Floyd, I wanted to speak as always of soul and sensations, and this album is soul and sensations.
It was released in 2015, when I listened to it for the first time what struck me was the sound, the desert, the dust. At the first listen I appreciated Dal tramonto all’alba above all, then with time Monumenti, El Padre and The World Ain’t Ready For Me.
Of course I love the album in its entirety, but with time tastes have changed and preferences too.
11 years later I bought the vinyl which was unobtainable for a long time, I added it to the latest albums of Noyz: Enemy, Virus and Funny Games.
To conclude I can only put another quote, which is also an invitation:
